Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dana Kaufman first found her love for the performing arts through music. She began by learning to play the piano, finding a passion for the guitar a few years later. During that time she trained her voice, as well as branching out into other arts such as photography. Eventually, after taking an intensive acting summer course at UCLA, she found that she wanted to dedicate her life to pursuing an acting career.
After being accepted into The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she moved to New York. While at The Academy, Dana was trained extensively in Meisner, Shakespeare, Movement, Dialects and Singing.
